Draft Indoor Sports Plan

The draft Indoor Sports Plan 2020-2031 has been prepared to guide Council’s continued and future planning, advocacy and investment in indoor sports facilities to enhance active sport and recreation participation, community health and wellbeing and social connectedness.

The draft Plan identifies works that are proposed over the next 11 years to meet both the demands of existing population areas and cater for developing growth area communities. The draft plan proposes consideration of future management models for Council’s indoor sports stadiums.

Seven sporting codes have been considered in the development of the draft Plan including Badminton, Basketball, Gymnastics, Futsal, Netball, Squash and Volleyball.

Submissions are invited from Hume sports clubs & associations, States sporting associations, peak sporting authorities, Hume community groups and residents. Council would like to understand which parts of the Plan are supported, which parts need to be refined and anything you think is missing that Council should consider.
