Major Review of Hume Horizons 2040

Consultation has concluded

Hume Horizons 2040 is Hume City's long term community plan. This plan has been guiding the direction of Hume City for the past eight years, and is scheduled for a major review.

We asked for community feedback on the impact Hume Horizons 2040 has had over this time.

In the discussion forum we asked the community to answer these questions:

  • What positive changes you have seen in Hume?
  • What challenges do you see in Hume?
  • What would you like to have seen change over the past eight years, that hasn't?

People could also take a Quick poll to tell us which Hume Horizons theme was most important to them.

This is the first stage in a larger project to develop a Community Vision and Community Plan for Hume City.

Strategic Objectives
1.1 - Support and enhance skill development and educational opportunities to reduce disadvantage and improve employee prospects and quality of life.
1.2 - Create conditions that support business growth and create local jobs for Hume residents.

Strategic Objectives
2.1 - Foster a community that is active and healthy.
2.2 - Strengthen community safety and respectful behaviour.

3.2 - Enhance community pride and sense of place.
3.3 - Strengthen community connections through local community events and the arts.

4.1 - Facilitate appropriate urban development while protecting and enhancing the City's environment, natural heritage and rural places.
4.2 - Create community pride through a well-designed and maintained City.
4.3 - Create a connected community through effective and effective walking, cycling and public transport and car networks.

5.1 - Realise the vision and aspiration of Hume's community by implementing Hume Horizons 2040.
5.2 - Create a community actively involved in civic life.
5.3 - Provide responsible and transparent governance, services and infrastructure which responds to and supports community needs.
