Stronger Hume: COVID-19 Adaptation and Resilience Plan

Consultation has concluded

The Hume community has experienced significant economic, social, public health and community impacts due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

During 2020 and 2021 Council adapted its services and delivered a range of targeted stimulus and relief initiatives to businesses and the community. These activities were designed to respond to pandemic impacts, build resilience and begin the process of recovering from the impacts of the pandemic.

As the journey with COVID continues, Council is now looking to identify the next phase of recovery and adaptation initiatives and priorities for 2022 and beyond.

Recovery from emergencies is best achieved when the affected communities lead and participate in the project.

Hume City Council is actively seeking community members to be involved in shaping our Community Adaptation and Resilience Plan to ensure it is locally led and self-determined by our community. The Community Adaptation and Resilience Committee will assist Council in identifying the following:

  • Strategic decision making for a sustainable adaptation to the new COVID normal
  • Assist Council to identify community needs and how these can be met through planning and programs
  • Shape and build resilience through community led programs
  • Reconnect the community
