Young people leading healthier communities

Consultation has concluded

Community members are invited to have their say on the health and wellbeing of children in Hume. We want to understand what enables children aged 3 to 12 years to eat well and be active through an online workshop.

What are we doing?
Hume City Council and DPV Health have partnered with VicHealth and Deakin University to deliver the Local Government Partnership - Younger people leading healthier communities.

As part of this project, we have consulted with community leaders to gain a deeper understanding of the factors and barriers that enable healthy eating and physical activity in Hume children.

We are seeking community members to share their voices in an online workshop. We now want to hear from the community to help us identify and prioritise actions.

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for children, parents/guardians of children, grandparents, those that work, play, and volunteer with children.

How are we doing this?
We ran two workshops during February. During the workshop we will discussed the factors and barriers that enable healthy eating and physical activity in Hume children aged 3 to 12 years. Following these sessions, we will identify and prioritise actions that are informed by the community.

Two online workshops were held:

♦ Tuesday 15 February 2022 between 10am and 12:30pm

♦ Thursday 17 February 2022 between 1pm to 3pm
