What is an Active Living Plan
Hume City Council is developing an Active Living Plan to enhance the health and well-being of the Hume community through the promotion of physical activity and active lifestyles. It will guide how Council plans and spends money on sports, parks, recreation, and leisure activities and opportunities into the future.
Hume's population is growing. By 2041 it is forecast that 380,000 people will call Hume home. To keep up with this growth, we’re creating a 30+ year plan to ensure everyone in our community can get active and stay active in a way that works for them.
What we heard from you
Thousands of people, including community members and clubs helped shape this plan. Your priorities were clear:
- More ways to be active close to home
- Safe, inclusive, and welcoming spaces
- Affordable, flexible options for all ages and backgrounds
