Background
We are planning improvements to the Barrymore Road Recreation Reserve playspace in Greenvale. We will replace the old play equipment, furniture and improve the landscaping. We will also include a public toilet because this park is used by both local people and visitors.
There will be:
- Equipment for varying ages and abilities
- Swings, carousel and slides
- Climbing and bouldering activities
- More drinking fountains
- More trees for shade
- An extra picnic shelter
- More seating
- A toilet with exterior artwork by a local artist
- New bins
You can see what is planned on the concept map below.

How to participate
Take a look at the proposal for the playspace and let us know what you love and any changes you would like to see. This consultation closes on Sunday 30 March 2025.

Leona mclaggan says:
Bike pump track, also the gates entering the park are not bike friendly you have to lift your bike over them

Greenvale resident says:
Sun shades over the playgrounds. We should be protecting our children while they play.

Less physical playground frames. Triple tower frame just seems like a waste of space. Would like to see a kid friendly road bike track.

Sail shades over the playground are a must! Frame climber looks like a hazard. Water play/trampolines would be a great addition.

Enclosed fenced area for dogs with water and poo bag dispenser, there's plenty of unused space behind the basketball stadium.
