Hume's Community Vision

Every four years, Victorian councils must review their Community Vision and develop a new Council Plan that responds to the Vision.

The Community Vision is developed by the community and identifies their aspirations and the future they want to see to ensure Hume is a great place with live, learn, work and play.

In 2021, our community told us that they wanted Hume to be:

Since then, our community has continued to grow and because of the pandemic, how we live and what we value has changed.

We are looking for 45 people who represent Hume's diverse community to form a Community Panel to refresh Hume’s Community Vision. Anyone who lives, works or studies in Hume is encouraged to apply.

The refreshed Vision will guide the development of the next Council Plan, as well as our Financial Plan and Asset Plan. It will also shape Council's planning and decision-making to ensure we deliver the projects and priorities that matter most to our community, while managing our budget responsibly.

The panel will come together in-person four times on the following dates:

  • Session 1: Wednesday, 30 October 5.30pm – 9.00pm
  • Session 2: Saturday, 9 November 9.30am – 4.00pm
  • Session 3: Wednesday, 29 January, 5.30pm – 9.00pm
  • Session 4: Wednesday, 19 March 5.30pm – 9.00pm
