Background

In 2021 Council invited feedback from the community on improvements to the playspace at Highgate Recreation Reserve, Craigieburn. Thank you to everyone who shared their ideas. The following new play equipment and improvements are proposed with consideration to community feedback:

  • Two play units with a mix of slides, balance and climbing activities
  • Swing set with toddler and inclusive seats, and a nest swing
  • An accessible carousel
  • See saw, rocker and climbable sculptures
  • Nature play including log and rock steppers
  • Play hut and interactive play panels
  • New shelter with picnic tables and BBQ
  • Seating options including backed bench seats and group seating
  • Drinking fountain
  • Improvements to the existing landscaping
  • A public toilet will also be installed to the north of the playspace
