Our goal is to create a safe, welcoming space where children of all ages and abilities, families, carers, seniors, and the wider community can come together.

Background

Hume City Council is planning to upgrade the playspace and surrounding landscape at Highlands Lake Reserve in Craigieburn.

The existing play equipment has reached the end of its useful life and will be renewed as part of Council’s Park Renewal and Upgrade Program.

How you can have an impact

We are inviting the community to help develop the concept plan for these improvements to create a welcoming, inclusive and engaging park.

Please let us know:

  • how you currently use the space
  • what you love about it
  • what could be improved
  • how you feel in the park
  • what you enjoy doing
  • and what experiences would make the space even better for everyone.

We’re also keen to understand how the space can be more inclusive and accessible and how gathering areas could better support families, carers and larger community groups.

What will and won't be considered

  • Will consider feedback

    • Preferred play experiences
    • Whether to keep or change the farm theme
    • Types of gathering spaces (BBQs, picnic tables, shelters)
    • Location of informal spaces
    • Path connections within project area
    • Inclusive play elements
  • Can't consider feedback

    • Water play
    • Project budget
    • Project boundary
    • Lake water quality
