Renaming a part of Station Street

Background

The Sunbury level railway crossing was used as a point to delineate between Gap Road and Station Street in Sunbury. Due to removal of this crossing, this is no longer the case.

Council is proposing that the section of Gap Road between Horne Street and Station Street be renamed 'Station Street'.

Council’s reasons for considering this proposal are detailed in Council Report number 8.8. This consultation closed on Thursday 23 November 2023. Thank you to community members who indicated whether they opposed or supported the proposal by:

Final Step

If Council endorses the proposal, it is then lodged with the Registrar of Geographic Names for their consideration. The Registrar makes the final decision on whether to approve the proposed request.
