Background
In late 2023, we ran a series of community engagement activities onsite, as well as online workshops to gain broad community feedback on the future of this precinct. Over 900 people attended the engagement activities and events, with around 580 people providing feedback.
In early 2024, we ran a series of workshops with key stakeholders to further inform the draft concept plans for Stage 1 of the project.
The vision
The draft concept plans reflect community feedback by focusing on creating a precinct that can be enjoyed and regularly accessed by the community and visitors, as well as providing fixed and flexible spaces to support local arts groups and the arts community more broadly.
How can I participate
We want to hear your thoughts on the draft concept plans. Your feedback will help to finalise the Stage One concept plans. Consultation was open until 15 May. People could turn up to 'come and chat' sessions or give feedback by:emailing the Team |
Next steps
After hearing from the community, the concept plans for Stage One will be presented to Councillors for endorsement. If endorsed, Council will proceed to the next stage of detailed design. Following this, construction is likely to commence early 2025, with the Stage One precinct opening mid to late 2025.
