Background

As part of the ‘Humes Places’ program the shopping centre known as ‘Mahoneys Plaza’ will be upgraded. We asked for your feedback in August 2022. We heard that you want more trees and plants to improve the look of the area. And that people who walk and cycle need better access.

The improvements to the Mahoneys Plaza shopping centre aim to respond to the feedback. They will also create a safer and more attractive area for the community and improve access for people with a disability. Some of these improvements include:

  • New trees and plants
  • New outdoor furniture
  • New outdoor dining opportunities
  • Two more carparks
  • Improved access
  • Improved safety

How to participate

Community members could choose the colour of concrete and brick paving they preferred and they let us know what they liked about the concept design and what could be improved by Monday 11 December 2023:
